There can be little else more inviting and comforting than the warmth and glow of a coal fire inside a traditional Cast Iron fireplace in any room. Cast iron fireplaces are versatile products as they are perfect for smaller rooms such as bedrooms or small lounges as they are narrower than your average fireplace and allow authenticity of Fireplace with either solid fuel fire, gas fire or electric fire but will still fit into any room perfectly. As with all Fireplaces there are aftercare methods that have to be carried out by owners to make sure they get the very best out of the Cast Iron Fireplace; All our Cast Iron Fireplaces are delivered to our customers with a protective, oil-based coating on polished surfaces, which should be cleaned off during installation. Ensure that the room in which the Cast Iron fireplace is being installed is thoroughly dry, for example recently plastered walls cause high levels of moisture in the atmosphere and, as a result, rust is likely to occur. Under no circumstances should a water based cleaner or polish be used to clean a Cast Iron Fireplaces it is recommended that a spray-type oil is applied from time to time in order to avoid surface rust appearing. When using ceramic fuel that comes with the gas fire option, it must be ensured that the ceramic fuel doesn't not touch any polished surface of the Cast Iron Fireplace as this will cause thermal discolouration. Ash caused by either the gas fire or solid fuel fire in your Cast Iron Fireplace must be cleaned away regularly as a build up beneath the fire will cause the grate to burn out quickly. The grate is a consumable part of your fire and will need replacement from time to time, depending on the frequency and burning temperature of your fire. High temperature paint is used on all Gallery Cast Iron Fireplace where the section of the gas fire or solid fuel fire will burn within the fireplace, the paint may eventually burn off. A proprietary, high temperature paint can be bought to re-coat your Cast Iron Fireplace if this occurs.
