Gallery Cast Iron Fireplaces and Cast Iron Fire Baskets - Useful tips on how to look after these products

At fires2u.com we sell the full range of Cast Iron fireplaces from the Gallery Combination range, which are fireplaces that are made from cast iron and are a single-piece item (i.e. no need for a separate mantel). They are manufactured to the highest quality ISO 2002 standards with the finishing processes being carried by highly trained craftsmen. All fires2u combinations fireplaces feature in the purple GALLERY 'Fireplaces' brochure and either come in black, highlighted or full polished option also some fireplaces come with a wide range of Tiles.

Some of the Gallery Cast iron fireplaces are simply perfect for smaller rooms such as bedrooms or small lounges as they are narrower than your average fireplaces therefore allowing you still have the authenticity of Fireplace and will still fit into your room perfectly!

All fires2u.com Cast Iron baskets and Fireplaces are delivered to our customers with a protective, oil-based coating on polished surfaces. This should be cleaned off during installation. It is recommended that a spray-type oil is applied from time to time in order to avoid surface rust appearing. Ensure that the room in which the cast iron product is being installed is thoroughly dry. For example recently plastered walls cause high levels of moisture in the atmosphere and, as a result, rust is likely to occur.

Under no circumstances should a water based cleaner or polish be used to clean Cast Iron Fire baskets or Fireplaces. When using ceramic fuel, ensure that these do not touch any of the polished surfaces as this will help to minimise the possibility of thermal discolouration. High temperature paint is used on the black and graphite products that Gallery sell, in sections of the cast iron where fires will burn. In time this paint will eventually burn off. A proprietary high temperature paint can be therefore bought to re-coat your fireplace. Such paint is available from fires2u.com we just request proof of original purchase from you and we can then get a price for this product for you.

Ash caused by the fire in your Cast Iron Fireplace must be cleaned away regularly as a build up beneath the fire will cause the grate to burn out quickly. The grate is a consumable part of your fire and will need replacement from time to time, depending on the frequency and burning temperature of your fire. Such grates can be bought also at fires2u.com we just request proof of original purchase from us and we can then get a price for this item for you.

Burley's History -

Burley appliances was created In 1975; by a gentleman called John Barson when he decided after a twenty year career with two of Britain’s largest electrical appliance manufacturers,.... Burley fires – Flueless gas fires, Electric fires and Fireplaces to strike out on his own. In these early days Burley consisted of just John Barson, a garage and a few components! The first of several turning points came for Burley when John visited the electrical buyer at Harrods. Returning with an order for 12 fires, there was no looking back. John took on his first employee and found a bigger garage. John’s son and daughter, after leaving school, also joined the Company. 1981 seen another major breakthrough for Burley when they became the approved supplier to the Northwest Electricity Board. Subsequently within 3 years Burley supplied all 14 of the British Electricity Boards (around 900 outlets). In 1985 the export market was explored by Burley, this had previously been a totally unexplored area however this market went from strength to strength. Today Burley exports to all major countries throughout the world. In 1993 the next major development for Burley was the introduction of the Empingham electric fire. This was the first model of its kind at this time that could be both an inset fire and a freestanding electric fire. Today, this has been widely accepted as industry standard for many electric appliances. In 1998 Burley fires decided to move into the gas appliance market, and introduce the first flueless gas fire to be sold in the UK. This market continues to grow, as you can see from fires2u.com website Burley sell a large range of flueless fires ranging from Contemporary flueless fires to more traditional flueless fires and even a range of flueless stoves so all customer tastes can be fulfilled. 2005 saw Burley continuing to develop the technology they used for their electric fires further by developing an innovative new range of electric appliance that featured Sensa-Switch touch control, remote control and an integral ioniser to freshen room air.
