There can be little else more inviting and comforting than the warmth and glow of a coal fire inside a traditional Cast Iron fireplace. Cast iron fireplaces are versatile products as many are perfect for smaller rooms such as bedrooms or small lounges such as the Gallery Nottage cast iron fireplace as this is narrower than your average fireplace and allow authenticity of Fireplace with a solid fuel fire, gas fire or even a electric fire but will still fit into any room perfectly. Cast Iron Fireplaces can either come in Black, Highlighted or Full Polished finish and a chose of tiled insets from beautiful orientate flowers too traditional brick bond style tiles.

As with all Fireplaces there are aftercare methods that have to be carried out by owners to make sure they get the very best out of the Cast Iron Fireplace. All Cast Iron Fireplaces or cast inserts are delivered direct to our customers from the manufacture with a protective oil-based coating, which should be cleaned off during installation. Ensure that the room in which the Cast Iron fireplace is being installed is thoroughly dry, for example recently plastered walls cause high levels of moisture in the atmosphere and, as a result, rust is likely to occur to cast iron placed in this room. Under no circumstances should a water based cleaner or polish be used to clean a Cast Iron Fireplaces or cast insert. It is recommended that spray-type oil is applied from time to time in order to avoid surface rust appearing.

The ceramic fuel bed that comes with the gas fire option with Cast Iron fireplaces, must not touch any polished surface of the Cast Iron Fireplace or Cast Insert as this will cause thermal discolouration. Also any ash caused by either the gas fires or solid fuel fires must be cleaned away regularly as a build up beneath the fire will cause the fire grate to burn out quickly. It is however important to note that the grate which is placed within the Cast Iron fireplace is a consumable part of your fire and will need replacing from time to time, depending on the frequency and burning temperature of your fire. High temperature paint is used on all Gallery Cast Iron Fireplaces and Cast Inserts where the section of the gas fire or solid fuel fire will burn within the fireplace, the paint over time may eventually burn off. High temperature paint can be bought to re-coat your Cast Iron Fireplace if this occurs. Such Gallery Fireplace paint or fire grates can be bought also at fires2u.com we just request proof of original purchase and we can then provide you with a price on these products.
