Crystal fires have now introduced a High Efficiency version of the stunning Gem gas fire which is called the Montana High Efficiency gas fire and is glass fronted gas fire which makes it up to 80% efficient. Flavel and Verine Open Fronted HE Gas fires at Fires2u

The Flavel and Verine Open fronted High Efficient gas fires provide the look and feel of a real open fire with net efficiencies of up to 74%.  These type of gas fires provide both radiant and convected heat. Gas Fire Trays at fires2u

Gas fires trays are simple gas fires that are designed to fit into a standard 16" clay fireback instead of the regular gas fire that includes back and trim. Whilst these fire trays are often decorative fires fires2u do sell models that can produce up to 4.2kW heat output depending on enclosure fitted in (please see these gas fire trays below). Gas fire trays are suitable for traditional Class 1 open chimneys only. 

Gas fire trays are also an ideal replacement for customers with existing solid fuel fires, as these fire trays enable customers to maintain a visual effect of a stunning live open fronted gas fire without the mess of solid fuel burning.  All fires2u fire trays have been purposely designed for installation into existing solid fuel grates where a chair brick is in place. Gas fires - Which Gas Fire is right for your home?

The type of chimney or flue you have dictates the type of gas fire you can have in your home. But if you’re not sure, then take a look at the below for a simple guide of what fire you will need. It’s worth remembering
that a full depth fire usually requires a traditional chimney whilst slimline gas fires will fit virtually any chimney or flue.

Brick Chimney Fires
This type of flue is easily recognisable by a chimney stack with accompanying terracotta pot or gas terminal on your roof; with these type of flues you can either have a full depth or slimline gas fire. However we always point out with Full depth gas fires make sure you check the depth size of the appliance in comparison to the depth you have in your opening.

Pre-Fabricated Flue Fires
Pre-fabricated flues are dentifiable by a metal flue and terminal on the roof and a metal flue box behind the fire.

Pre-Cast Flue Fires
Pre-cast flues can be identified by a ridge vent or metal flue tube and terminal on the roof. Constructed from concrete or clay blocks they form a rectangular section flue. Many customers who have this type of flue can only have slimline gas fire due to the depth in there opening, so to ensure you purchase the correct fire contact fires2u with your depth dimension and we will check this size against the gas fire depth.

Power flue Fires
Powerflue fires use an electronically driven fan unit mounted on the external wall to expel the flue gases directly outside the building. A sophisticated microprocessor monitors performance and automatically shuts off the fire in the unlikely event of operation failure. This type of gas fire is an open fronted gas fire and as it comes with the flue system it has to be fitted on an external wall.

Balanced Flue Fires

Balanced Flue gas fires use a horizontal pipe to vent directly outside, the outer pipe draws air from the outside and the inner pipe expels combustion gases. An electricity supply is not required for Balanced Flue products. All these type of gas fires are glass fronted and as these fires come with there flue system they have to be fitted on an external wall as well.

 

Flueless gas fires

Flueless fires incorporate the latest in gas fire technology however do not need a chimney or flue to operate or even an outside wall! Instead, the combustion gases pass through a catalytic converter system, positioned at the top of the appliance, which converts carbon monoxide into harmless carbon dioxide and water vapour, levels of which are so low they are typically present in fresh air. In fact, the catalytic converter works so effectively that it can actually help to clean the air by neutralising airborne particles and odours, therefore helping to reduce household allergies. Flueless gas fire have become a very popular especially in homes that have been built recently and come in various designs to suite any room style.

Gallery Cranbourne Fireplace Suite on 60 minute makeover show

The 60 Minute team headed to Kent on ITV1 yesterday surprised Rochester-based mother and grandma Sue, who's had a tough few years.

Her husband passed away four years ago from cancer and then last year Sue was diagnosed with the same disease. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and has been in and out of hospital.
