Also with your agreement if you would like Be Modern to remove the new products packaging on any of the Fireplace Suites on arrival, the drivers will arrange this and it will be returned to the Be Modern factory for recycling.

The new Be Modern Ellonby fireplace surround includes a back panel and a hearth in either a Manila marble, Pearl stone marble, Marfil Marble or White Stone Marble or Black granite (see options below). This 50" (1270mm) fireplace surround comes with an adjustable rebate size of 45 and 75mm.

The Be Modern Avantgarde gas fire which is shown with this fireplace suite is not included in the price but can be found on our website!

The new  Be Modern Piera fireplacesuite comes in stunning Manila micro marble finish and includes surround, back panel and hearth. This suite comes in either 48" or 54" sizes and a 45mm rebate in the surround.

The Piera surround is available with under-mantel Smartsense lighting. Manufactured with long life LEDs which are mercury free and more energy efficient than traditional halogen bulbs. The LEDs incorporate Smartsense Technology which are controlled by a motion sensor, so no contact is required (Please note these down lights are available at additional cost please refer to our website).

The Be Modern Piera fireplace suite can be selected with a standard 'boxed & lipped' hearth (as shown in main image see below) or a stylish 5-sided hearth.

Which Electric fire or Gas fire is right for your home?

ELECTRIC APPLIANCES

Electric Fireplaces

These stylish electric fireplaces come complete with the electric fire as an all in one solution. With no need for a chimney or flue these fireplaces can be positioned in many different room types and are available in different sizes and styles to suit your home.

Wall Mounted Electric Fires

Simply hang on the wall, plug in and then one of our wall mounted electric fires spring into life. With 100% efficient heat and stunning flame effects our electric fires are supplied with either manual and/or remote controls a choice of fascias to suit your internal decoration and a fixing kit for easy installation.

Inset and Hole in the Wall Electric Fires

An ‘inset’ or ‘hole in the wall’ type of fire will normally require a recess to house the engine of the electric fire – this might either be a conventional chimney breast or alternatively a purpose built false chimney breast (the ‘inset depth’ dimensions of all our products can be located when clicking on the information page of our products and then clicking on the dimension tab). Some inset electric fires either come with a spacer kit or can be purchased with one for additional cost which then allows the fire to be fitted freestanding against a flat wall.

Electric Stoves

Electric stoves are freestanding appliances that come with an approx 1 metre of cable with a UK 3 pin socket and can then be simply plugged in.

TYPES OF FLUE OR CHIMNEY

Below is a simple explanation of the various types of flues which will help you make an informed decision on which gas fire maybe right for you and your home needs:

Brick built chimneys

Brick built chimneys can be identified by a brick built chimney stack and by chimney pots. Brick built chimneys give you the widest choice of fires and can accommodate gas fires with full depth fire chambers as well as most inset electric fires*

Pre-fabricated flues

These can be identified by an external metal flue pipe or cowl on the roof and may have a false chimney breast in the room to conceal the metal flue in the home. Pre-fabricated flues can accommodate some slimline gas fires and also some inset electric fires*

Pre-cast flues

Check for a ridge tile vent or a metal flue pipe with cowl. Pre-cast flues are built into cavity walls and can accommodate some slimline gas fires and some inset electric fires*

No chimney or flue

If you can’t see a chimney or Flue as described above then you may require a Balanced Flue or 

Powerflue* gas fire -

Powerflue

Powerflue gas fires use an electronically driven fan unit mounted on the external wall to expel the flue gasses directly outside the building. All the powerflue gas fires we sell our open fronted fires.

Balanced Flue

Balanced Flue fires use a horizontal pipe to vent directly outside. An electricity supply is not required and all Balanced Flue gas fires are glass fronted.

Gallery Cranbourne Fireplace Suite on 60 minute makeover show

The 60 Minute team headed to Kent on ITV1 yesterday surprised Rochester-based mother and grandma Sue, who's had a tough few years.

Her husband passed away four years ago from cancer and then last year Sue was diagnosed with the same disease. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and has been in and out of hospital. Her daughters attempted to give the house their own ‘60 Minute Makeover’ but their DIY skills were less than impressive! So the family asked the ITV 60 minute makeover team to come and do the job properly as a surprise for their Mum. Basic guide to fitting Fireplaces with Gas Fires

Fires2u Gas Fireplace Packages includes a stunning large range of fireplace that compliment all rooms and styles of décor. There range includes Jurastone, Marble, Limestone, Wooden or Cast Iron Fireplaces suites and the feedback that fires2u receive from there customers really prove what a stunning addition these Fireplace packages offer to the room they are being fitted into as well as how easy installation of these fireplaces is too!

Fires2u has complied a basic guide to help customers when installing one of there Fireplaces with an Gas fire, which includes many handy tips and ideas to install many fireplace suites. Please note read the below carefully and fully before you carry out any installation to see which points relate to your Fireplace suite –

As with any installation preparation is vital. Always check what type of flue your home has an effective way of doing this is to call out a local Chimney Sweep who can check your flue for you. It can then be cleaned by them, and they can recommend if any remedial work needs to be done. Always ask for a certificate upon completion of any work they do. When this has been completed you can purchase an Gas Fireplace with more confidence.

Please note as with any Gas appliance it must be installed and commissioned by a Gas Safe engineer and registered with Gas Safe

Upon delivery of your Gas fire and Fireplace check all parts and lay them out on a flat dry service in order of installation.

Always prepare the chamber in your chimney breast, or ensure an existing chamber is sufficiently big enough to accept the appliance you are fitting (this is specially advised in the case of precast flues which have very little option of alteration due to there construction).

When working out the dimensions of the chamber always remember to allow for the thickness of your hearth when deciding on the height of the chamber. Once the chamber is prepared ensure you have a Gas supply located within the chamber to prevent any unsightly gas pipes being seen.

Lay down hearth and check it is level and well supported underneath.

Check rebate in surround and ensure back panel is set to suit this rebate,( these can vary so always check before fixing) the back panel should be seeled on outside edge and inner edge were the cut out is located this is to prevent any spillage from the fire occurring.

You can now assemble your Surround.

Most Surrounds are provided with fixing brackets attach these at the points indicated, with the screws supplied.

When setting legs and fixing to wall always check measurements i.e. the outside leg measurement corresponds with the breast plate and header of surround when presented. This may require two people depending on the style of surround chosen.

If you have carried out this preparation work yourself you can now organise your Gas Safe fitter to carry out the installation of your Gas Fire.

Always keep a record of your Fitters registration number, the Serial number (located on the gas appliance itself) and Model number of the appliance as most manufacturers will require these details if a call out is requested under the Manufacturers Guarantee.
